Once again, the Greenwich Sail & Power Squadron has joined with its neighboring squadrons to form a Consortium that offers a wide range of Power Squadron courses. Be sure to take advantage of one of these interesting courses on boating.

Currently the Greenwich Squadron is offering a Piloting course. Note that next spring, we will be offering courses on Safe Boating, Weather, and Powerboat Handling on-the-water.

  • Saturday, May 9, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm
  • Greenwich Police HQ, 11 Bruce Place, Greenwich, CT
  • $75 per person, includes coffee and sandwich lunch

Safe Boating Class Starts Feb. 24

The Squadron’s next Safe Boating class starts on Tuesday, February 24

7 – 9 pm at Greenwich High School, 10 Hillside Road, Greenwich CT

Over four Tuesday evenings, learn the basics to safely and comfortably go on the water with your boat from our NASBLA-certified and experienced instructors. Topics include:

  • Seamanship
  • Boat handling
  • Safe towing
  • Docking
  • Anchoring
  • Jet ski operation
  • Rules of the road
  • Navigation aids
  • Regulations
  • Boating in adverse conditions
  • Marine VHF
  • Marlinespike (Knots)
  • Trailering

Graduating students will be eligible to obtain the Connecticut Boating Certification and Personal Watercraft Certification and have six months free membership of the Greenwich Squadron to attend our speaker events, raft ups, lobster parties and for further boating education.

$70 for materials payable to instructor. (Family discounts.)
$29 payable to Greenwich Adult Continuing Education
